The BiblioQUALITÉ program, conducted in 2022, serves as an impartial and sustainable assessment tool, recognizing investments made in public libraries. The evaluation criteria encompass five key indicators: acquisition expenses, opening hours, spatial adequacy, seating capacity, and human resources.

Denis Martin, the Mayor of Deux-Montagnes, expressed his pride in the city’s exceptional accomplishment, stating, “We can be proud of this excellent result. It reflects our commitment to providing the population of Deux-Montagnes with services that promote cultural development and cultivate a love for reading.”

The achievement is not merely a numeric triumph but a testament to the city’s multifaceted approach to library services. Martin highlighted the various strategies employed, including the acquisition of new collections, the recruitment of qualified staff, and the dedication to maintaining high-quality library facilities. These initiatives collectively contribute to an environment that encourages learning and literacy.

Mayor Martin also unveiled plans for further investments in the library slated for 2023. This commitment to continuous improvement aligns with the recent extension of library hours, adding five extra hours per week. Such endeavors underscore the city’s recognition of the pivotal role its public library plays in the community’s intellectual and cultural development.
