In a significant move to bolster local entrepreneurship, the MRC of Thérèse-De Blainville, in collaboration with the Quebec government, the Fédération québécoise des municipalities (FQM), and the Fonds local de solidarité FTQ, has unveiled a new $900,000 fund. This fund aims to support the business community within the MRC of Thérèse-De Blainville territory.

The announcement was made at a prestigious event attended by notable figures such as Eric Girard, Minister of Finance and MP for Groulx; Eric Westram, prefect of the MRC; André Genest from the FQM; and Éric Desaulniers of the Fonds local de solidarité FTQ.
Fund Objectives and Contributions
The primary goal of this newly established local solidarity fund (FLS) is to expedite start-up, expansion, and acquisition projects for businesses in the MRC area. The FLS was materialized through significant contributions: $750,000 from the Local Solidarity Funds FTQ, $100,000 from the FQM, and $50,000 from the MRC of Thérèse-De Blainville.

Network Expansion and Community Impact
Éric Desaulniers of Fonds local de solidarité FTQ noted the historical partnership with FQM since 1991, leading to the FLS network’s success in supporting local Quebec businesses. With the inclusion of the MRC of Thérèse-De Blainville, the network now spans 97 FLS across Quebec.
Funding and Investment Details
The FLS will enhance the financing of local business projects, allowing entrepreneurs to access diverse funding sources. The maximum investment a company can receive from the FLS is capped at $100,000.
