Fifteenth National Grand Prix Gala for Occupational Health and Safety

The Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) des Laurentides has been awarded an important prize, the Gold Laureate, Innovation – Public Bodies category, at the 15th National Grand Prix for Occupational Health and Safety Gala, held on October 30. This prize was awarded to the CISSS des Laurentides and more specifically to the team of the Mont-Tremblant Accommodation Center for the design of a rolling system for dining room chairs aiding in resident mobility.
Its operation is very simple and easy for everyone, employees and residents. During the meal period, the nursing staff must, on several occasions, move the chairs on which the residents are seated to bring them closer or further away from the tables in the dining room. A system that effortlessly lifts and moves chairs has been created. In fact, the addition of casters to the back legs of the chairs connected to a central pivot facilitates the movement of patients and maximizes their comfort.
“I would like to congratulate this team for creating such an ingenious project! Exclaimed the President and CEO of the CISSS des Laurentides, Ms. Rosemonde Landry, who underlines the teams’ desire to always work for the well-being and greater comfort of residents.
