Deux-Montagnes mascot has been named
The new mascot of the City of Deux-Montagnes made a first public appearance on February 4 at L’HIVERNALE which was the city’s big winterfest featuring many fun activities. The most important one was undoubtedly the contest that launched with the population to find the new mascot a name. The results are in and the new Deux-Montagnais ambassador is now named Renardo!

In order to further formalize Renardo’s arrival in the City of Deux-Montagnes, the municipal council assigned his name to him by way of a resolution during the council meeting held on Thursday, February 23, 2023. If for many citizens there was no doubt as to the name that the City was going to give it – judging by the comments on the Facebook platform -, the results of the competition among the population are unequivocal. Renardo was suggested by 39% of participants.
Contest winner
The winner of the contest was drawn at random from all the participants who suggested this name. They are Guillaume Chantal, who won a $50 gift card at IGA extra Les Marchés Lamoureux, two annual cards for Parc national d’Oka, offered by SEPAQ, as well as free access for the whole family to the special spring break activity on Wednesday, March 1, organized by the City’s Recreation Department.
Young and old will be able to meet Renardo again during the various events organized by the City.
