Rosemère Expands Network for Drivers of Electric Vehicles

In a significant stride towards sustainable transportation, the Town of Rosemère unveiled the installation of 14 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on July 17, 2023. Made possible through a grant from Hydro-Québec’s Electric Circuit program, this expansion demonstrates Rosemère’s commitment to fostering a greener future and promoting electric mobility. The Electric Circuit program has set its sights on establishing a network of 4,500 EV charging stations throughout Quebec by 2028.

The 14 freshly inaugurated Electric Circuit charging stations, each adorned with the iconic Rosemère logo, are equipped with a total of 20 240-volt chargers. These charging stations are strategically positioned to provide convenient access for EV users at various key locations within the town:

Four stations conveniently located at Town Hall (100 Charbonneau Street)

Two stations featuring four chargers each outside the local arena (155 Charbonneau Street)

Highlighting the importance of these additions, Rosemère Mayor Eric Westram stated, “The addition of these stations provides more charging options to EV drivers in the area, while also promoting a greener mode of transportation. This initiative is one of the key tangible actions we are taking for the environment.”

The Electric Circuit program, offering both 240-volt and 400-volt charging, stands as Canada’s pioneering public network of EV charging stations.
