About Tricentris

Tricentris is a non-profit organization resulting from the amalgamation, at the end of the 1990s, of 44 municipalities that decided to take over the management of their residual materials.

With a first sorting center in Lachute in 1997, the family grew with those of Terrebonne and Gatineau, respectively in 2007 and 2011, as well as a head office in 2009 and a glass micronization plant in 2013. To give life in all this, Tricentris can count on a team of 225 employees.

Today, serving more than 200 member or client municipalities, Tricentris is the largest sorting organization in Quebec. Each year, the company receives, sorts and markets some 200,000 metric tons of recyclable materials collected from 1.7 million citizens of the Laurentians, Outaouais, Montérégie, Lanaudière and Abitibi. Témiscamingue. The contents of the blue bin of one in four Quebec households are therefore sent and processed in their sorting centers.

Since its creation, Tricentris has carried out with pride and determination its mission:

To offer our members the best service at the best possible cost

To become a real regional development tool

To act in accordance with the foundations of sustainable development and to defend its principles

Tricentris therefore contributes at the same time environmental, social and economic aspects of regional development, but also strengthens its position as a key player in the management of residual materials in Quebec by proposing a new approach in the recovery of recycled glass with its micronization plant.
