Quebec games: Lorraine delegation

On February 23, the City of Lorraine attended the pre-departure meeting of the athletes from the Laurentians delegation. The latter will is participating in the Quebec Winter Games, from March 3 to 11, in Rivière-du-Loup. This gathering was an opportunity for the municipality to give the young people who will represent the city objects displaying the coat of arms of Lorraine as well as a check for $145. This financial support is offered each year by the City, as part of its Policy for the recognition of organizations and individuals. The Lorraine athletes who are competeing there for these provincial competitions are Karen Vasighi in fencing, Agathe Closson Giguère in gymnastics, Benjamin Bossé, Mathys Fortin, Dante Pisanelli and Amélia Trahan in hockey and finally Mia Labelle in speed ​​skating

“On behalf of all the members of the municipal council of Lorraine, I wish the best of luck to the athletes who will represent our city and our region at the Quebec Games. I wish them to surpass themselves and to take full advantage of the experience they will have. This major sporting event is a celebration of physical activity, but also an opportunity to meet other enthusiasts from all over the province. We are behind our athletes and very proud to have them as ambassadors,” said the mayor of Lorraine, Mr. Jean Comtois.
