The government also intends to establish a multifunctional path to promote the movement of cyclists and pedestrians. Discussions will have to take place with the municipalities concerned in order to ensure connection to the local network. The submission of the project notice to the Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MELCC) makes it possible to take a key step in the planning of the project. This approach is part of the environmental impact assessment and review procedure. Over the next few days, citizens will be invited to share their observations on the issues that the project’s impact study should address by participating in an online consultation conducted by the MELCC.
“The reconstruction of the Gédéon-Ouimet bridge confirms the importance your government attaches to sustainable mobility with the addition of reserved lanes for public transit.
