Rosemère’s online Forum on the Environment

On June 12, the Town of Rosemère will launch the 2nd edition of its Forum on the Environmental—a free, 100% virtual family event! This forum, which was a great success during its first edition in 2020, is an initiative of the Town of Rosemère’s Civic Committee on the Environment (CCE). The event will focus on topics as varied as an introduction to permaculture, recycling, food waste and native pollinators as well as on wildlife as seen through the fascinating life of the Canadian beaver. Through three live web conferences and two pre-recorded conferences ranging from 45 to 90 minutes each, participants of all ages will have the opportunity to learn more about these environmental topics, depending on their interests.
“The creation of the Civic Committee on the Environment was very important to our Town Council. This civic committee is directly in line with our strategic vision of Rosemère, a proud, green and prosperous town. Ever since it was formed almost two years ago to the day, we have been proud to pursue an approach based on dialogue and to draw on residents’ expertise to better guide our environmental actions and initiatives. Last year, close to one hundred residents participated in the first edition, which is why we are renewing the invitation again this year! It is clear that by working together on matters that concern us, we will succeed in preserving the outstanding quality of life that we enjoy here in the Town of Rosemère,” stated Rosemère Mayor Eric Westram.
People who are interested in attending any of the live web conferences must register online before 10 a.m. on Friday, June 11. Registration is free of charge and open to everyone. Since there is a limit of 300 participants per web conference, the city asks that residents reserve one ticket per address, if possible, and share the screen with the family!
The Civic Committee on the Environment (CCE)
In line with its strategic vision, Rosemère, a proud, green and prosperous town, the Town of Rosemère set up this advisory committee in June 2019. Composed of Robert Farand, Claude Jourdain, Alain Dessureault, Jasmine Lail and Émilie Lapalme-Gendron—five resident volunteers with significant expertise in environmental and sustainable development issues—along with Mayor Eric Westram, Councillor Marie-Hélène Fortin and Councillor René Villeneuve, the CCE’s main mandate is to oversee the enhancement and promotion of the Town of Rosemère’s green vision.
