The mayor of Lorraine, Jean Comtois, was appointed president of the board of directors of the RIPTB (Régie intermunicipale de police Thérèse-De Blainville). He succeeds Mr. Eric Westram, mayor of the City of Rosemère.

Arrests for theft of catalyst in Sainte-Thérèse

The RIPTB arrested five (5) people for a theft of catalyst. On November 19, 2021 around 11:10 p.m., the RIPTB police were notified that a catalyst theft was in progress in the area of ​​Boulevard Desjardins Ouest in Sainte-Thérèse.

The witness gave the description of the suspects and the vehicle used. The police quickly located and intercepted the suspect vehicle and arrested the five (5) occupants. The latter were taken to the station for investigation. The defendants are three (3) men and two (2) women aged between 19 and 27, residents of the Terrebonne region. They have been released by summons or promises to appear and could face charges of theft and possession of burglary tools. The RIPTB reminds the population that if someone observes a person with unusual or suspicious behavior, immediately notify the police by dialing 9-1-1.

“In order to prevent this kind of theft, some companies have developed protective plates or boxes which, once attached, make access to the catalyst much more difficult. Otherwise, we recommend to favor well-lit parking lots and high-traffic areas. ” announced the police department
