Ms. Catherine Murray Truchon will follow up with citizens who have used the services of the police as part of psychosocial interventions.

The Régie de police Thérèse-De Blainville is proud to inform the citizens of the region of the hiring of a new social worker within the police organization.
Ms. Catherine Murray Truchon will follow up with citizens who have used the services of the police as part of psychosocial interventions. She will participate daily in problem solving in order to support the most vulnerable citizens of our community. Her intervention work will thus offer the necessary support to the person involved and to his relatives. She will intervene in various psychosocial situations that can sometimes be complex in collaboration with partners in the health and social services network and in the community, in order to propose the measures necessary to achieve the objectives set. She will inform and support citizens with the resources that can provide them with help.
“We are partners of the community; our priority is first and foremost the health and safety of the person. This appointment is the logical continuation of our proactive strategy aimed at prevention, problem solving, partnership and proximity with our citizens. We have noticed a growing demand for calls related to issues of this nature in the territory. The addition of a social worker within the Régie completes the service offer already offered to the population. »said director Francis Lanouette.
“This improvement complements perfectly with the services already offered within the Régie. For several years, we have been proud to offer a service focused on the needs of citizens living in difficult situations,” added Inspector Martin Charron of the Prevention and Operational Support section. This news comes at a time of great need.
This project added a new partnership with the organization La Halte des Proches. This association supports and guides relatives accompanying people with mental disorders and offers additional services in their recovery.
Finally, it should be noted that this service offer is made possible thanks to financial assistance from the Government of Quebec, obtained under the program to support municipalities in crime prevention.
